2012 Digitas Summer Internship Program
What would the ideal internship be like? How about working for a global agency with clients that make their competitors drool? Or rubbing elbows with some of the coolest, most talented people in our industry? Welcome to the Digitas Summer Internship Program.
What we look for:
Our interns are pioneers! They are not just advertising students. Our program is not all about majors or concentrations; it's about students with a prowess and attitude that really intrigues us. Our interns are creative thinkers, superb critical thinkers, and people who are passionate about learning about advertising. Our interns choose which department (we call them capabilities) to focus on during their time here: Account Planning, Creative, Finance, HR, Marketing, Media, Project Management, Technology, and Strategy & Analysis. We provide lots of opportunities to learn through weekly training sessions that give our students exposure to the other capabilities and how they work together for our agency.
Some great highlights of the program:
While exploring our various departments, you'll also participate in:
- Intern Outings: opportunities to get intimate with the city and peers
- Summer Project: a chance for our students to pitch work to us
- Annual Offsite All-Staff Meeting: think high school pep rally, only cooler
- Community Service Day: we explore our inner children with paint, sandboxes, or monkey bars while doing some good in the community
What are our interns saying?
We surveyed our 2011 interns after they completed the program, and here is what they had to say:
"Digitas has shown me what a great company is and has set a pretty high bar for my future expectations. The internship program was a great way to experience the culture and values of Digitas. I would be lucky if I get the chance to explore more opportunities with this company." (Jenny, New Business — Chicago)
"I felt part of the team from day one! The office events made me feel like a part of the family and my team was always there for me." (LaShuanique, Technology — Detroit)
"I truly enjoyed my internship and I believe that was due a lot to the people I worked with. I felt I was given many opportunities to work on important projects and my manager was always extremely helpful. Overall, I felt I learned more from the people I worked with than I ever have before about the industry." (Syril, Marketing — New York)
"Digitas makes it so that you become part of a culture where passion for the work drives teams to realize incredible ideas with brands that are leading the world." (Daniel, Technology — Stamford)
"I most enjoyed being able to do real work. I genuinely felt like my manager had confidence in my abilities and interest in my opinions. I didn't feel like a typical ‘intern' but rather like a valuable member of the team whose work contributed to the group's success." (Joshua, Strategy & Analysis — Atlanta)
"When comparing my experience at Digitas to other intern programs, it ranks as one of the best. From the training, to the hands-on experience and mentorship, the overall experience seems incomparable. Digitas has done a great job exposing me to the industry and life at a leading agency." (Bianca, Project Management — Boston)
